Year: 2000
Minifigures:
none
Piece count: 558
Piece count: 558
Build: I have more trouble with Technic Lego sets than any other. The issues I have are the following: the bars are difficult at times to connect, when completed they all seem flimsy, and the instructions are not as clear as they should be. On the flip side, this set (and most Technic sets) have a variety of poses a builder can put them in, although this one does not have as many poses as others (e.g. 8008).
Playability: Aside from the flimsy nature, this one is fun to play with due to the extra poses and it almost has an action figure feel to it. This one particularly fun because you can roll it (slowly) and it will pop open and stand on its three legs. Fans of traditional Lego bricks/plates may be disappointed because there are no minifigures and it looks nothing like other Lego Star Wars sets.
Value: Good original price.
Recommendation: Collectors only and only if you consider Technic part of your Lego collection. For those who want an action figure style build, I would recommend the ultra build sets (e.g. 75112).
